While I’ve had a wonderful past week (going to Chicago, watching great movies, hanging out with Jo on her birthday) underneath all the fun some serious grumpiness is bubbling to the surface. I’m back to feeling like all I ever accomplish is at my day job (i.e. not my dissertation) and I’m feeling slightly swamped with reviewing articles for journals (I know I can say no, but I didn’t b/c the articles looked fascinating), and now with job market tasks. Not to mention the fact that I have three sizable and important dissertation tasks on my plate right now: (1) Another draft of an article/methods chapter that was sidetracked by my surgery (which, yes, was months ago). I shoud have finished this, oh, a month ago. (2) An entire article for a journal. I’ve only written a abstract and some notes for this, and it’s been conditionally accepted so I have to send out something reviewable. (3) Finalizing my coding scheme along with descriptions of each code.
*sigh*
But, in the meantime, leave it to the internets to provide me with a lovely distraction like Wordle, that turns any text you give it (no matter how huge) into a cloud. So I used Wordle to create these…
Here’s the word cloud for the paper I just had published:
And here’s the word cloud for my dissertation proposal:
And the tag cloud for the paper I need to get out the door:
They’re beautiful! But, I’m sure my advisor and journal editors won’t accept these as actual work. So, back to work I go.
*sigh*

First off, im worried about you and everything you have to get done, i love the word things! very cool
