Some of my favorite (free or mostly free) mac apps for OS X.
- Adium X [the best for instant messaging]
- AppDelete [deletes the contents of an application package]
- AppFresh [an application that checks for, and downloads, updates for all your apps]
- Clean Text X [cleans up text- html, crazy email formatting, caps, etc.]
- CmapTools [the best free concept mapping application]
- Cocktail [apple maintenance]
- DeepVacuum [Download entire websites (I also like Sitesucker for this]
- Disk Inventory X [take inventory of your hard drive]
- Firefox [web browser and optimized]
- GraphicConverter [a free photoshop alternative]
- Growl [system-wide notification]
- iGTD [to do list manager]
- Jumpcut [I don't know how I lived without this!]
- KompoZer [free, open source web-authoring]
- Mail.appetizer [Mail notification-- finally updated for 10.5!]
- MenuMeters [menu bar processor meters]
- Resize ‘Em All [batch photo resizer-- although if you have 10.5 you can do this in preview.app!]
- Sidenote [easy to access notes that are much better than apple's Stickies]
- Slim Battery Monitor [for your toolbar-- an improvement over the standard battery monitor]
- TAMS Analyzer [qualitative text analysis software]
- TinyAlarm [menu bar alarm clock]

I don’t get any credit.
